We held the first Stowe Valley Primary Sports Festival on Thursday 19th June at Oakley School.  It was absolutely wonderful to see the children from across the MAT having fun; for the children to experience the most fabulous of sports facilities Oakley School has to offer; and for them to compete in a sports competition that is MAT-wide.  Hopefully, they will always remember this.

The children completed a set of activities in their own schools, and teachers selected the top girl and top boy from each year.  Key Stage One did a gymnastics routine consisting of a balance, a pencil roll, a star jump, a bear crawl and a finishing pose; they also completed a standing long jump and a triple jump and a timed chest bounce. Key Stage Two did an orienteering course, sprints, standing long jump and a triple jump.  At the end there was an exciting tug of war between all of the Year 5 and Year 6 pupils!

Natalie Collen, PE Lead at Bishops Itchington School, commented, "Thank you so very much for the teachers' hard work in supporting the children in school to reach the finals of the Sports Festival.  This was an amazing achievement for all the children who qualified and took part at Oakley School yesterday; every child received a Finalist badge to recognise this achievement. Thank you also for all the teachers and staff who, 'on the day' got stuck in and worked so incredibly hard to make the event such a success."

We would also like to thank the fabulous Year 7 students from Oakley who were invaluable in supporting the children and running events.  Also, many thanks to Arianna and Daisy from Year 12 at Southam College, for being our official photographers.

Here are the top three results - but we would like to stress that the most important part was being there!  All children who came first, second or third [boys and girls] received a bronze, silver or gold badge
